PHOTOGRAPHER, DESIGNER, AND THE PERSON BEHIND G523 STUDIO

I’m originally from Ukraine, now based in Canada. My journey in photography started with a film camera and a few good friends who didn’t mind being in the frame. I spent years photographing street life, concerts, everyday moments — anything that felt real and full of life. I wasn’t chasing perfection. I was learning to see.

Later, I started getting freelance work — small jobs, portraits, events, even some product photography. I kept learning with every shoot. Over time, I also worked as a photojournalist, covering local stories, people, and places. Some of that work made it into exhibitions and won awards back home. But for me, it was about refining my eye and learning to capture truth, not just images.

G523 Studio grew out of all of that. The name comes from a garage back home — number 523 — where we built things from nothing. No budget, just energy, ideas, and friends. The “G” once stood for our creative crew. Now it stands for the garage — and the belief that great things can start small.

Today, I focus on headshots, portraits, proposals, weddings, family stories, and creative projects. I like to keep it honest and simple. I’ll guide you if needed — or step back and let the moment happen. I believe the best photos don’t just show how it looked — they show how it felt.
